Who we are
ArtistValley is the marketplace of Artist Valley, a contemporary art gallery in Auroville, Tamil Nadu. This notice says what we keep when you use the site, and why. Questions go to the WhatsApp link in the footer.
What we collect
An account stores your name, email, and the role you choose (artist or patron). The password is handled by the sign-in service. You can also sign in with Google or X, and we keep the name and email those services share with us.
An order stores the delivery name, address, and phone, the work you bought, and the price in the currency shown on the listing. INR amounts are stored in rupees.
An auction stores your bids, the time of each bid, and whether you are watching a lot. Messages and enquiries you send on the site are stored with the thread. A session cookie keeps you signed in on that browser.
What we use it for
We use this information to run your account, show your orders, run auctions, and record the artist’s share of a sale. We use it to answer you. A sale the gallery marks as completed offline is stored as an order too, with the buyer’s name, the price in INR, and the date.
We keep records the gallery needs for its own accounts. This page does not invent a GST number. If the gallery has saved a GSTIN in its business details, that number is used on documents that need it.
Who can see it
You can see your own account, bids, and orders. The seller of a work can see the order and delivery details for that sale. Admins can see the desk they use to run the house. A manager can see artworks, auctions, orders, and featured works, and cannot open payouts or settings.
When checkout is open, the payment provider receives the amount and the reference it needs to take the payment. We do not store your full card number on ArtistValley. We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep orders, bids, and sale records for the life of the account and for as long as the gallery needs them for its records. You can ask us, on WhatsApp, to correct a detail or to close an account that has no open order and no live bid. A completed sale stays on record. Signing out ends the session on that browser.
Children
The site is for adults buying and selling art. We do not ask children to create accounts.
Changes
If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. The version on the site is the one that applies.
