Five women gather around the daily ritual of churning butter, chatting and laughing in saris of orange, green, pink and blue. Bananas hang behind them and bowls rest at their feet. A warm, crowded celebration of women's companionship in a South Indian home, painted in Suriyamoorthy's bold, joyful palette. Mixed media on acrylic, 30 x 48 in.
